About The Role
As the Lead MDS Coordinator, you will oversee the entire MDS process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and state regulations. You will lead a team of MDS coordinators, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the MDS (Minimum Data Set) process to ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
- Supervise and mentor the MDS team to ensure consistent quality and performance.
- Oversee assessments, care planning, and documentation to reflect the resident’s clinical status and needs accurately.
- Provide education and guidance to staff on RAI processes, regulatory changes, and best practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care outcomes and reimbursement.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure MDS accuracy and compliance.
- Stay updated on changes to federal and state regulations related to the MDS process.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Florida
- Minimum 3–5 years of MDS coordination experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role.
- RAC-CT (Resident Assessment Coordinator - Certified) certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and RAI guidelines.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced, large-scale facility.
