As you can see by our New AACN President's (Terry Davis) Theme - we are all Rising Together - as an Association, as a Chapter, as Colleagues, and in our Communities! Per her quote from her President's Address at NTI in May:  “Together, we are so extraordinary. What a profound sea change we’ve experienced. There’s more to come. Someone must drive that change. If not us, then who?"

This is more true even Now! We have faced many challenges since the influx of COVID, and now are starting to see restrictions once again in our very Community. Per our local news, the VA ALF / Nursing Home is now imposing mask mandates and limited visiting - not meant to panic, but to help prevent! Let's hope and pray this stays at a minimum!

As a Chapter we have also taken a hit, as we try to rebuild our Professional Community and Chapter over the past couple years! We are not seeing the financial stability we once had even 4-5 years ago. We have to constantly be thinking of how we are going to keep the Chapter solvent, while still offering premium educational presentations and venues. All this while Not trying to pass along additional expenses to our Members. Many of the Board attended NTI Leadership / Chapter Meetings & Presentations this past May, and we are not unique in our struggles! Some Chapters have even folded over the past couple years. I spoke with some of the members at one of my presentations who are trying to rebuid from the ground up again! We are fortunate we are not in that situation, but we do need Your Help & Support! Remember - Rising Together! This year we are going to need all of that, plus patience as we try to make sure our Chapter grows even stronger!

We will have a great Year - I have no doubt! This is in part because of our wonderfull Board, and most importantly because of you - Our Members!

Here's to the GTBCAACN!! So Proud to have onboard!!

Respectfully, your current President,

Sandy Salicco, MSN, RN, CCRN-K
