First Education /Dinner Meeting - August 10!

Good Morning!

I did not want you to think we forgot, but we have been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work over the Summer to try to make this a Great Year for all. We had a Strategic Planning Meeting last month and had to make a few hard decisions to help us continue to grow and stay solvent!

We just received final details about the Aug. 10 Educational Dinner yesterday, and registration will be opening within the next 10-12 hours - if everything aligns in Nursing Network (they recently updated the entire system)!  As of right now, we also have confirmation for Dinner Meetings in October and December - more info to follow. As always, they will be the 2nd Thursday of the Month (but things occassionaly can be subject to change). What you can do now is make plans at work so you will have the best chance of attending. 

Remember - you must be an Active, Up-to-date Member of both AACN National, as well as GTBCAACN to attend sponsored dinner meetings!  It is up to YOU to check your current status - do not wait until the last minute!  

All this being said, we are going to start to impose a $10 sign-up fee for everyone for the Dinner Meetings going forward - this will take place when you register in Nursing Network. We are immensely sorry to have to do this, but times being what they are we had to figure a way to defray some of our administrative costs, and felt this to be extremely fair.  When this chapter started out many years ago, Attendees were charged $5 to attend a meeting at a hospital, and considering how expenses have soared everywhere, we realized we are no exception!  Besides, where else can you get a great Lecture (with CERPs), food and drinks at some of the finest places in town, all while socializing and networking with your colleagues. 

It may not make you feel better, but other chapters are doing similar things to stay afloat. This will also help us to fund Tides which we plan to have in the Spring this year, goal is February - it takes $$ to get good speakers and have great events such as this. 

Remember our current Theme - Rising Together!!  We can only do this if we ALL do our Parts!
